Cabarrus County’s trails offer options for both beginner and experienced mountain bikers. Choose your adventure, then relax and refuel after your ride at local restaurants that offer good eats and a laid-back vibe. Or go from trails to ales– Cabarrus County is home to several craft breweries.

Day 1: Brown Mill Trail & Downtown Concord

The City of Concord’s first mountain bike trail is a must-ride. This intermediate trail is 4.25 miles long, and features a mix of hand-built and machine-cut trails with dips, berms, jumps, switchbacks, and a gravity cavity. Open from dawn to dusk, the Brown Mill Mountain Bike Trail is also open to run or hike.

Afterward, hop in the car or back on your bike and take a short ride to Historic Downtown Concord. This historic district offers several spots to sip a cold one, have a hearty meal, shop locally made wares, and be entertained with the whole family.

Stroll downtown to find a storied ice cream shop, an arcade bar, Cuban cuisine, handmade leather goods, a cat café, an escape room and so much more. Right off of Union Street, Southern Strain Brewing Company and their in-house kitchen The Eatery are the ultimate match with small-batch beer and inspired dishes.

Day 2: Harrisburg Half at Harrisburg Park

Located near Harrisburg Town Center, this trail can be paired with nearby activities for double the fun. The Harrisburg Half is a half-mile loop consisting of a short climb, switchbacks, and doubles. Located at Harrisburg Park, plan to enjoy the Harrisburg Half Trail any time of year or coordinate your schedule to include a special event such as the “Rockin’ The Burg” Summer Concert Series.

Recharge after your ride. Just around the corner from this trail, Harrisburg’s local hangouts have plenty of delicious refreshments to choose from. Visit Vortex Bottle Shop for a charcuterie-style menu and vast selection of wine and Carolina beer or stop in Percent Tap House, a local brewery offering fresh brews and plenty of entertainment on their calendar.
